Week 9: Space + Art
This week, all topics that we've been discussing since day 1 are brought together in the concept of space. This chapter is overall fascinating to me as I, since I was young, loved learning about space and the wonders that are beyond our solar system. From the starting ideas and exploring of astronomy, Copernicus brings the push to study space which is now one of the main focuses in today's time. The only difference is the innovation of technology and art that allows us to further explore.

Early Space History
The beginning of space history, was something truly interesting and mind blowing. With the competition to enter space between high ranked nations, USA and Soviet Union, along with creating NASA in 1958 in order to continue this competing effort, this has turned into the complex idea of shooting technology into space but now more than ever, for exploration on unseen territory. The early history of it all influences my understanding of this weeks topics as knowing the timeline of our space history is vital in further learning what is going on today.

Space Economy:
The concept of creating a space economy from lecture 5, was something that I have never heard of before but was also something that influence my understanding of this week's topics. It is extremely wild that humans are now developing the idea of building an economy in space when it has really only been seen here on planet Earth. I can imagine this bring great possibilities but I can also imagine the struggles this can carry. After the succeful spaceX "dragon" that attached to the intetatin space station, a conversation of commercial transportation of astronauts into space began but not only that companies such as Planetry Resources was rising. This is a company was among others to start an asteroid mining industry in space. This was astonishing learning and something, if true, is something I would support as their goal is to find sustainable supply of natural resources as the population of humans continues to increase.
Overall, this new era of space whether that's exploration or creating industries, it is all something worth understanding and educating ourselves on.
